River City Rangers coaches share a common vision and the depth of experience that combine to make a winning soccer club. Building on extensive coaching and playing experience, Rangers coaches emphasize positive coaching, academic success, and individual talent within the framework of well-defined team goals.

Our coaching staff comprises dedicated and talented professionals, most of whom are licensed by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) or the South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA).
  LEADERSHIP
Head Coach
Frank Allcorn

Frank grew up in England where he captained several All Star teams. He has been coaching youth club soccer and Adult women’s teams for over 20 years. His women’s teams have reached the national finals twice. Frank has coached many successful girls teams over the past ten years for the Rangers. He is currently the administrator for both the Austin Men’s and Coed Soccer Leagues. He holds a USASA “C” license.

Head of Boys
Darrell Best

As a youth player, Darrell was a member of the Houston Texans Soccer Club, where he helped lead them to a State Championship. He was also an all region player for Clear Lake High School. Darrell played collegiate club soccer at Texas A&M, where he led them to a national championship in 1991. More recently Darrell played for the Austin City Men’s Premier League while he earned a degree I Elementary Education at the University of Texas. Darrell has coached youth soccer for five years, previously serving as Assistant Director for Youth Development at the Austin Thunder Soccer Club. Darrell joined the Ranger coaching staff in the fall of 2004, possesses a USYSA "C" license and holds an Advanced National Diploma from NSCAA.

Head of Girls
Mike Brow

Mike holds the USSF National "B" and the NSCAA Advanced National coaching licenses. Until recently he coached with Austin Thunder and Kingwood Wave and achieved State and Regional success. Mike played at the semi-pro level with the Thunder and Soccadillos. Mike is a USSF and NISOA (college) National Referee and in 2004 officiated the Jr. College National Championship final, the D3 Men's National Championship final, and the D1 Women's National Championship semi-final. He is an active mentor/assessor for youth and adult referees throughout Texas.

  STAFF
Christopher Agboga
Chris has been involved with soccer his whole life. In Nigeria, he played professional soccer at both the national and international levels, and was a member of the 1st Division Green Eagles. He has coached youth recreational, select, and collegiate soccer in the United States since 1986. In 1999, he coached the Southwest University Men’s Team to a regional championship. From 2000 through 2005, he coached a number of Pflugerville boys and girls select teams. Four of his teams achieved 3rd place or higher in State Championship tournaments, and one ('90 Lady Sidekicks) won the State Championship in 2002. Chris holds a Director of Coaching Diploma and an NSCAA Advanced National License.
Erin Armstrong
Erin played soccer for the University of North Texas ('98). After moving to Austin, she joined a highly successful premier women's team and convinced them to become River City Rangers. Erin first coached for the Rangers in the first half of this decade, and the club was happy to welcome her back in the summer of 2008.
Cortland Bosc
Cort is the head goalkeeper coach for the Rangers.  He grew up in North Carolina and captained his high school soccer team earning All–Conference and All–Region Honors. Cort played goalkeeper for Appalachian State University while earning an B.A. in Political Science. During college he also served as a soccer referee instructor and coached youth soccer. Cort recently earned his Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin while also serving as an academic mentor and tutor for the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women.
Dan Busch

Prior to joining the Ranger coaching staff in 2004, Dan coached for the Austin Capitals Soccer Club for eleven years where he led many teams to state championships. Dan holds a USSF “C” license.

Clifford McBean

Clifford has been coaching youth select soccer at all levels for 16 years. For his efforts with the Rangers, Clifford was named the South Texas Youth Soccer Association Coach of the Year in 2002. Clifford holds a USSF “D” license and is a USSF certified referee.

Sean Rasberry
Sean returned to Austin after spending five years as a corporate attorney in Los Angeles to pursue his true loves: tutoring students and coaching/playing soccer.  Sean was a Division I club starter and three-year varsity starter at Clear Lake High School where he played with another Ranger coach, Darrell Best.  Sean continued his career, playing for The University of Texas as well as in England where, as the starting sweeper and captain for University College—London, he led the team to the top of the table.  Sean continued playing for almost a decade in the Austin City Men’s Premier League, during that time earning his law degree from the University of Texas.  Sean joined the Ranger coaching staff in the Spring of 2005 and possesses a USSF  National “D” license.
Manon Saakstra
Manon played her youth club soccer in the Netherlands. She played collegiate soccer for the College of the Southwest in New Mexico where she was a four year starter. She now plays in both the Austin Women’s Soccer League and indoor co-ed league. Manon has been coaching youth soccer since 1999, beginning her coaching career with the Chaparral Soccer Club in Westlake before joining the Ranger coaching staff in 2003. She holds a USSF “D” license.
