UPDATE: RCR 04 Boys Orange Reach Quarterfinals at Southern Regionals

The Rangers 04 Boys Orange team posted  2 wins and a loss in the group stage to advanced to the quarterfinal round of the USYS Southern Regional Championships in Greensboro, NC.  

The Rangers lost their opening group stage match but rebounded with 2 wins to earn a place in the quarterfinal round  the where they fell to the eventual Regional Champions,  TSC Hurricane by a score of 0-4.  The TSC Hurricanes will represent The Southern Region at the USYS National Championships in Frisco, TX,  July 25-30.

The Rangers finished the tournament with 2 wins and 2 losses, with 7 goals for and 9 goals allowed over 4 games.

The Rangers Josue Rodriguez-Perez made the U13 Boys Top Scorers list, tied with 2 other players for 3rd top scorer with a total of 4 goals in 4 games played.

RCR 04 BOYS ORANGE CROWNED STATE CHAMPIONS AND EARN A TRIP TO SOUTHERN REGIONALS!

The Rangers 04 Boys Orange team made Rangers' history by winning the STYSA State Cup Championship and earning the right to represent South Texas at the USYS RIII Southern Regional Championships in Greensboro, NC,  June 22-29.

The Rangers posted  results of  a  2-2 draw and wins of 4-1 and 3-1 to secure the top spot in the 13U Boys Bracket  and a trip to the Southern Regional tournament.  

More than 200 top US Youth Soccer Boys and Girls teams from the 12 US Youth Soccer State Associations will be competing for the regional title, June 23-29 at the US Youth Soccer Region III Championships at BB&T Soccer Complex at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C.

The Region III Championships will feature top teams in the 13U through 19/20U age groups. Preliminary games will take place Friday, June 23 through Sunday, June 25.  Quarterfinal matches are Monday, June 26 for the 13U Boys and 14U-16U age groups, and June 27 for the 13U Girls, 17U and 18U age groups. Semifinals are Tuesday, June 27 for the 19/20U age groups and Wednesday, June 28 for U13-18U teams. The Region III Champions will be crowned following final games on Wednesday, June 28 for 19/20U sides and Thursday, June 29 for 13U-18U teams.

US Youth Soccer State Cup Champions and select runners-up from 12 US Youth Soccer State Associations in Region III, including host North Carolina Youth Soccer Association will participate. The other State Associations represented are Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Texas and Tennessee.

Regional winners of the 13U through 19/20U age groups will  earn a berth to the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships, held July 24-30 at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas. One of the 14 national crowns awarded is the James P. McGuire Cup, the oldest trophy in youth sport dating back to 1935 with the inaugural youth championships.
